Everyone who visits Framlingham these days will be aware how the town is being swamped by new housing. Now the town council is telling prospective developers it won’t talk to them about their plans.
The East Anglian Daily Times reports that Simon Garrett, chair of the council’s planning committee, has said it was council policy to accept invitations to meet with developers but only to provide information.
Both developers have been told their plans would not be supported.
The two developers are seeking pre-submission consultations for their housing schemes. Mr Garrrett told the newspaper: “We don’t want to get into discussion or negotiations with them or make any offer about what the council will do,”
