Above Debenham various tributaries of the Deben meet bringing water running off a large area of land. And just below the viallage is thee firs sewage works on the riverside.

Biodiversity is simple the range of living orgsanisms in an area. Making the village a nature reserve of linked spaces in which creatures like hedgehogs can thrive. Water quality sampling is about identifying threats to biodiversity in the Revier Deben.
